[Symptoms Wisdom Teeth Pain] Wisdom tooth pain, or no?

symptoms wisdom teeth pain

Symptoms Wisdom Teeth Pain
I’ve been having a lot of pain in the back of my mouth and looked it up online to find that my symptoms were identical to the wisdom teeth symptoms… I scheduled an appointment w/ dentist, and now, 2 days later, the pain is nearly completely gone… The gum where I was having the most pain before are still sensitive to touch and a small sore when I open my mouth really wide, but other then that I’m not really having any discomfort. I’m going to go to the dentist anyways, but I wanted to know if anyone else had this problem, and if it’s common among wisdom toothaches?

PrissyPippaLou
Hi. I am a dental asst. You need to have a panoramic x-ray to see what’s going on under your gums and see if you have enough room for those useless wisdom teeth. They are plaque trappers and get infected simple because they are hard to clean around. You should get them out either way. Excellent Luck and I hope you can get them out soon , before they become really infected! And by the way, they do hurt on and off when an infection is taking place. The pain will come and go, them it will just come and stay.
brother_lu
it comes and goes, or so i hear…

if you had a stressful last week, then that might have aggravated it. but it’s a excellent thought to go anyways and have them xray the area, just to see what those molars are doing… especially if they haven’t impacted (broken the skin) yet..

♥absent♥ ♥farmer♥ (¯`v´¯)
Pericornitis is the infection that you feel around your wisdom teeth as they come in and infection gets trapped back in the pockets around the back molar and gum around the wisdom tooth. The dentist should take a panoramic x-ray and determine if you are ready to have your wisdom teeth removed.
Best Wishes:-)

Symptoms Wisdom Teeth Pain
Okay so here are the symptoms: Headache, teeth hurting(the ones directly in front of my “wisdom” teeth, some pain in my jaw, and some minor pain that seems to come from my aching jaw that seems to travel sown my neck nearly into my collar bone. I can feel the wisdom teeth breaking through the skin so Im wondering could all of this annoying stuff be coming from my wisdom trying to come in?

matt12x35ph
yes most likely … you may have to get them pulled if there isn’t enough room for them. although mine hurt while they first broke the skin but were fine after a small while and haven’t hurt since.
Zach
Yes. All this is most likely coming from your wisdom teeth coming in, eventually you will just have to go to a dentist and get them pulled out.

Hope I helped.

† ҉ † ȻΉЏϾĶ NORRIS IS HOT ۩₪☺!
YES!!! You should get it removed. The wisdom tooth is probably impacted. Besides, it is a common procedure. The wisdom teeth are also hard to reach, so it is a excellent thing to get them removed before cavities are produced and spread. Discuss with your dentist to schedule a time to remove it.

[Rotten Wisdom Teeth] Just had my rotten wisdom tooth ripped out of my skull, HAHAHAAHA!ya know what?

rotten wisdom teeth

Rotten Wisdom Teeth
was surprised at how healthy the root looks compared to the crown of the tooth.
but since it contributed obviously to the reason why I’m no antibiotics (got ill and faint like b4 hand from it) it’s a relief it’s outta there.
Anyway, was pleasantly surprised that when alternating “gauze times” for clotting, that it was advised after the 3rd time to place a dry tea bag over it as well. apparently ‘something in the tea aids to help it to clot’. anyone out there know what ingredient this is in the tea that functions like this?
Curious to know!
thanks :-)
time for gardening now
of course it is in gauze. was given several pieces to takke proper care. the tea bag is to only use once.
home remedies are the best. esp. when blended SOMETIMES w/modern medicine. I can attest to them personally, but the question anyway was answered already kindly. and thank you appreciate you satisfying my curiosity regarding tea, ect. thanks!! :o )
apparently he’s been in practice for YEARS~since 1979!!
I had it done right in the chair dear. and it took only –gosh like 10 minutes or LESS? THat’s the ‘pulling time’ probably even less time than that really. It was the novacaine, and waiting for the effects of that to kick in. Nope, the shot didn’t hurt whatsover. The 2nd injection was a small pinch, didn’t feel the 1st one.
and YES< THE ENTIRE TOOTH was removed leaving absolutely NOTHING behind. I've got it w/me really just because I wanted to 'study' it outta curiosity.
He's well known for his speediness
'agony aunt' thanks for ur response as well as everyone elses/I'm concerned about you, and hope you find another dentist.
I've never heard of that one b4!!

a doctor told u to use a tea bag???
nancy s
Tannic acid. Used for tanning hides in the ancient days. It stops the bleeding by toughening up your gums.
Farrah
I m surprised too that a doctor told u to use a tea bag…not that it’s a terrible thing but they try not to cross the line into natural home remedies. It is the caffeine in the tea that reduces the swelling ,numbs, and shrinks the tissue. The plus is that it’s already wrapped up in the disposable small cloth!!
lindabaire
Tea contains Tannic Acid which may help to reduce the bleeding by helping to form a clot by contracting bleeding vessels.
Agony Aunt
Did you have a wisdom tooth removed at the dentist or in hospital? I’m only curious because a couple of weeks ago I had an extraction of a molar that was a nightmare. It seems what could go incorrect – did go incorrect. I went back yesterday to have some of the bone removed that was coming through the roof of my mouth and lo and behold, I had a fourth root removed that the dentist who had spent over an hour in my mouth two weeks before – had missed!

I sincerely hope you keep as upbeat as you are now and all your suffering was done before it was removed. Hooray for tea bags, what a could excuse to brew up! lol

[Does Taking Out Wisdom Teeth Hurt] Does taking your wisdom teeth out hurt?

does taking out wisdom teeth hurt

Does Taking Out Wisdom Teeth Hurt
So I am a hypochondriac, and I am freaking out right now. When you’re getting your wisdom teeth out, does it hurt?

Paul Mcvicker
my magic 8-ball says YES !!!
The Confused One
When i got mine out, they used the laughing gas, so the actual process didn’t hurt at all. In fact, i have absolutely no recollection of the actual procedure taking place. All i remember is taking the laughing gas and waking up in the recovery room with my mom holding a video camera while laughing at me.
If you question me, the worst part comes in the first couple days right after the procedure takes place, but you should be given some type of painkiller to ease the pain.
You just have to make sure that you clean the wounds with salt water once the swelling goes down to ensure that they dont get infected.
Excellent luck !

i still have one of my wisdom teeth to this day

You may not want them to use the drug Versed ( Midazolam ) for the procedure.

In fact, many people who use Versed for ” IV Sedation,Conscious Sedation” during a procedure are awake for the entire procedure but remember nothing, often believing they were “out” the whole time.

Versed (Midazolam) is an amnestic. It is also commonly used for minor procedures like colonoscopies dental procedures like extractions, conscious sedation, twilight sleep, so that patients won’t remember pain and discomfort.HOWEVER THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT THOSE SENSATIONS WILL NOT BE EXPERIENCED!!!!Forgetting does no mean it did not happen!! Amnesia does NOT take place for some patients.

IT’S NOT MY INTENTION FOR YOU TO NOT GET THE PROCEDURE DONE, JUST INFORMING YOU THAT YOU MAY WANT IT DONE WITH ANOTHER DRUG!!!!!

Here is a note from a Dentist Who uses Versed
I’ve used Versed 1000+ times during oral surgery procedures and I’ve never had a complaint. It’s a miracle drug because it is safe and it causes you to not remember an unpleasant experience. My answer to him is isn’t it better to have not experienced the pain than to have forgot it. No wonder you have had no complaints they have no memory of the procedure. Arnie G.

does it hurt like reallly terrible that you have to weep? hahaha i’m exaggerating srri :P

Xcross Fire
not sure about wisdom teeth but when they got my teeth out they injected my gum to make it numb that didn’t really hurt then they just yanked it out that didn’t really hurt at all and i was only 12 yrs ancient at the time and awake so I’m pretty sure your gonna be fine also one note i want to add

I HATE THE DENTIST :)

purplegirl
Yep…had mine cut out while I was asleep. You wont feel any pain when you wake up as the anaesthetics will take care of that for a few hours.

I didnt get any pain or aching until 3 or more hours later so take some strong painkillers about 3-4 hours after you leave the dentists and keep taking them regularly for a few days and you should be excellent.

Your jaw will ache for a week or so after the removal of the teeth as there was a lot of trauma done to get the teeth out. Follow the instructions from your dentist and you will be ok.

Mike B
i just got mine take out on saturday afternoon, truthfully i was sitting in the chair watching them do the whole thing, all of my teeth were impacted(grown towards other molars). it is really not terrible when they do it they place at least 20 shots to freeze everything then a shot to help with sweeling and pain, i was frozen the whole day. one thing i recommend even today i did it is when you go to bed have a pill beside you for the morning cause when you wake up your gonna be like, @#$ *. other than that i dont know just get some cool movies or play some video games and eat alot of noodles and ice cream.

[Wisdom Teeth Removal Insurance] If i got dental insurance todY would they cover wisdom teeth removal in a few months?

Wisdom Teeth Removal Insurance
I need them removed. Would this be a preexhisting condition? Everyone has them, so I don’t see how they can say that!

Dent
Look in your policy if there is any waiting period before any claim and if the policy cover extraction then the removal of wisdom teeth will be covered too.

To be certain; once you have an insurance and there is no clause on waiting period, you can question your dentist (the one that will perform wisdom teeth surgery) to submit a pre-estimate for wisdom teeth extraction now. That way you will know ahead of time if the insurance will pay for the surgery and how much .

[Symptoms Wisdom Teeth Pain] Wisdom teeth pain making my face hurt?

symptoms wisdom teeth pain

Symptoms Wisdom Teeth Pain
I currently have what I reckon may be a ‘wisdom tooth’ coming through my lower right gum. I’m not entirely sure if I have any already, mind you, I am 19 years ancient.
It’s a subtle throbbing pain and my cheek feels a bit swollen. Last night I went to sleep with a headache and an earache in my right ear.
Can wisdom teeth coming through give off those symptoms?

I have been taking panadol for the pain and using numbing gel on my gum. If there are any remedies anyone has to make the pain subside, do tell.

I plot on going to the dentist when I have a chance but I have no free time to do so until thursday or friday next week.

Thanks for your helpful answers in advance.

I like it when you smile ♥
Yes, when your wisdom teeth come in, you’re going to experience headaches and earaches. You can try to ice it or take some advil if panadol doesn’t seem very effective. There’s not really much more to do than what you already are doing. Try maybe sleeping on the other side?
Make sure you drink plenty of fluids to ease the swelling.
Hope you get better!

[Wisdom Teeth Taken Out] How did you feel after having your wisdom teeth taken out?

wisdom teeth taken out

Wisdom Teeth Taken Out
I got my wisdom teeth taken out yesterday, and I threw up a few times since. Half of my mouth is still numb… Is it normal after 24 hours? What were your symptoms?

Kristen Lowe
i despise it it really hurts when i got my wisdom toot out i throw up like 4-6 times and i never wanted to eat i couldnt sleep IT HURRTTSS
IT HURTS BELIVE ME IT DOES
twistedtart
Dam, your still numb? Are you taking pain pills? That could be the reason you puked if ya are.
I’ve had one pulled, and it was relief to be honest. That sucker had chipped and was causing me such grief that I couldn’t sleep.
It didn’t hurt all that much after the shot wore off. It was kinda sore but nothing I needed pills for.
If your worried that something is incorrect, call the office and question. It’s what they are there for.
Hope you feel better~
Chris Cross
I felt the same. I really bit my lip and didnt realize it and bled all over myself at a restaurant.
Bassam
well, i got my wisdom teeth pulled one by one, not all of them in one day…
so it was a normal extraction. of course my mouth kept numbed for long hours, but it keeps numbed when you don’t do any jaw movements. so try to go it a bit every now and then.

god bless

e
Not too terrible, my tongue was very numb for a while until the novicane wore off. I didn’t throw up once over my pain mededince either. My mouth was sore from the needles being shoved in. My face is a bit swollen, thankfully I’m not in a lot of pain either.

Wisdom Teeth Taken Out
Tomorrow Im getting my wisdom teeth taken out. The procedure should go through fantastic, but how terrible is the pain afterwards? I also hear you look like a chipmunk haha. Hopefully they give me the “excellent stuff” lol

bubuh
its not terrible at all. u feel nothing and the laughing gas is fun lol. there is a small pain after, but if ur new “empty tooth sockets” dont get impacted, u wont be hurtin at all.
kitten
When I had mine out it wasn’t that terrible. It hurt a bit afterwards but usually they give you T3s so that helps. All in all its more inconvenient and uncomfortable than anything else. If everything goes normally it shouldn’t be that terrible, and I’ve heard of very few people having any complications. So don’t worry about it. Excellent luck!
no duh’]um. i reckon they will place you to sleep

AFTER your procedure. it will hurt a small of course ^-^

BUT! be glad that tis out!! be greatful the docs took time to take it out.

after your procedure. make sure that you take more careful with your teeth.

and dont worry. dentists wont give that much pain to you. just relax cus they know what to do

Cave Creek
You will be doped enough to where you may feel the “tug” as they come out. Afterward, not enough discomfort to worry about. Rinse with warm salt water.
By the way it is excellent to get them out so your jaw is not crowded and you can clean your back teeth better. Excellent on you!
Brian
I got my wisdom teeth out a few months ago. It wasn’t as terrible as everyone says it is. I mean yeah i was swollen for a few days and couldn’t eat much. But as for the actual pain. Its not even that terrible. I didn’t even need to take the pain killers after the first day. Just keep up with the ice. 15 minutes on. 15 minutes off. Or something like that. I don’t remember exactly. Just relax and don’t worry about it.

Best of luck.

[Wisdom Teeth Cheek Swelling] Mild swelling under cheek after 12 days of Wisdom Teeth removal?

wisdom teeth cheek swelling

Wisdom Teeth Cheek Swelling
Hi,

I had a wisdom teeth removal surgery 12 days ago (8 teeth were removed). 4-5 days after the surgery, swelling and pain have gone away. Today morning I notices my left cheek is mildly swollen (no real pain unless it’s pressed on). It’s not noticeable if you look at my face.

Is it something that I should worry about? What shall I do to make it go down?

Thanks.

Gemma C
I had this for about a month or two after surgery.

Its nothing to worry about if it isnt causing you any pain – it will eventually go away on its own. You could place ice on it or take ibuprofen to take the swelling down for a small time but if it isnt painful i would just leave it alone.

alianna_hodiya
I would ice it and if it gets worse or painful without touching,t hne xcall and see ur dentsit.

I’m currently on my third day of recovery and so far, my left cheek isn’t as swollen as my right cheek, and it also doesn’t hurt as much either. Is this normal? Or are there some signs of infection I should be looking for?

I reckon two of my wisdom teeth were impacted as well- the dentist only gave me two of the teeth they pulled out. Does that have to do with anything (the impacted tooth, I meant) of the swollen cheeks?
I forgot to add that with the right cheek I feel as if there’s a larger bump and its kind of numb when I smirk.

savoryjawbox
Probably an infection, I would go back to your oral surgeon.
Chanurdar
My sister had the same problem. It is really normal its just that the other cheek was irretated more then the other. this will allways happen.
Dashes
The swelling should have gone down by now, did you place ice on it after the surgery? (hour on, hour off). Be sure to take all of your antibiotics they prescribed you.

They probably only gave you 2 teeth back because they had to break apart the impacted teeth.

As for the numbness you REALLY need to tell your dentist about this. The surgery may have hurt a nerve in your jaw.

[Wisdom Teeth Anesthetic] Is it normal to still feel terrible after wisdom teeth surgery on anesthetic?

wisdom teeth anesthetic

Wisdom Teeth Anesthetic
Why do i feel so lethargic and terrible? is it the anesthetic aftermath? I know im not that patient and its only been a week but why do i feel like ive been hit by a truck?

dancer4evr282
Hmmm. well the Anesthetic should only make you feel groggy. After that day you shouldn’t feel all that terrible. You will most likely feel pain for up to 1 or 2 weeks. You will also feel tired, and in pain (the mouth). You shouldn’t feel…sick. Like the flu. Each day you should be progressing a small. If not, i would call your doctor.
ladydreamer254
Anesthesia is supposed to make you feel tired, hence the reason why you feel lethargic. But this is only for the first day as you have to sleep to get the anesthesia out of your system.

Not sure why you feel terrible and lethargic after a week though…

[Wisdom Teeth Removal Without Anesthesia] What should I expect if I have to get a biopsy of a painless growth on the side of my lower jaw?

wisdom teeth removal without anesthesia

Wisdom Teeth Removal Without Anesthesia
Two weeks ago I went in for my routine dental cleaning, and the hygienist found a large bone growth on the side of my lower left jawbone, near the back of my mouth (alongside the molars). Since it doesn’t hurt or feel weird at all, and since it doesn’t protrude through my cheek, I wasn’t even aware of it until she showed it to me with a mirror. Now, I can’t believe I went for possibly months without noticing it! The dentist wants me to go to an oral surgeon and probably get a biopsy of the growth to make sure it’s not cancerous, which leads me to my question: what should I expect during and after the biopsy procedure?

When I had my wisdom teeth removed about 5 years ago, I had absolutely no pain afterward and didn’t even take the prescription painkillers. Are biopsies generally less painful than tooth removals?

Will I be able to eat solid foods soon after as long as I chew them only with the right side of my mouth?

I don’t plot on getting general anesthesia or twilight anesthesia, only local lidocaine injections. What should I prepare to experience during the biopsy?

Any insights from individuals who have had a jaw biopsy or from oral surgeons or dentists would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

LX
Its just a bit of swelling after, not painfull

[Wisdom Teeth Earache] My wisdom teeth are giving me the worst earache, how can I alleviate the pain?

wisdom teeth earache

Wisdom Teeth Earache
I have been on a steady diet of codeine and advil for the past week. For some reason my dentist doesn’t want send me for a referral to a surgeon yet, she wants to check on somethings in my mouth first. Until I can get these things out, what do you suggest?

sunflowersing
Vanquish works incredible for pain. Try putting ice in your mouth where your wisdom teeth are, although I reckon removal is the best option. Try asking for a second opinion of another dentist. Best of luck!
TCM
Ibuprofen worked for my tooth aches. Don’t take too much as taking a lot will hurt your kidneys from what I’ve heard. Also, taking too much aspirin can hurt your liver. Usually doctors will make a regimen for you to take aspirin or ibuprofen over a long period of time so you don’t hurt your organs. Check with your doc. They usually can answer something like that over the phone.
